About

I’d like to say I’m a writer. But I’m also a teacher. I’d like to say I’m a teacher. But I’m also a writer. Growing up in Baldwinville, Massachusetts, I learned to appreciate the value of work from my parents.

Today my life is a mixture of these passions - writing, teaching, and working to support the continuation of great things that happen every day in public schools. That is what my site is about.

My background is diverse, like the students I work with and learn from. BA in History from Bates College. M.Ed from Lesley University, and JD from Massachusetts School of Law. Plus a PhD in life from the Schlapak's, Columbuses and Seaman Paper Company. Besides teaching, my career includes stints as a newspaper editor and a public defender in juvenile and family courts.
